Here we'll discuss how to use advanced operations in your ship queue.
If you haven't already do so please read the Starship Queue instructions page. These instructions will get you started using the ship queue.
Simple vs Full Interface To access the advanced ship queue options you'll need to be on the "Ship Operations" page and click on the link, "Show Full Interface" to see these advanced options. Otherwise you'll just see the simple interface options. Follow Ship Using this option you can select a ship that you wish to follow. Select the name of the ship that you wish to follow and your ship will follow it as long it is on the Long Range Scanners (LRS). Once your ship loses sight of the ship being followed it moves on to the next instruction. If you select the "Permanent" option, your ship will not move on to the next instruction but hold in place until the "followed" ship shows up on the scanner again, at which time it will again begin to follow the selected ship. You must have Long Range Scanners installed for this operation to work. Guard Entity The guard option allows you to select ship or base and your ship will sit and attack anything at attacks the "Guarded Entity". It will continue to attack until the target entity is destroyed, the target entity flees (it will not be pursued) or the guarded entity is destroyed. Hold for X turns This operation differs from a permanent hold in that it will hold for a set amount of turns before moving on to the next operation in the queue. Hold until ship X arrives Use this operation when you're waiting for ship to arrive with cargo, or waiting to deliver cargo to another ship. There are lots of other uses, but we'll let you discover those on your own. Patrol to X, Y Want to guard some space, using the patrol option is good for this. You'll need to add any ship you want to be attacked to your "Blacklist". The ship will travel to the specified coordinates looking for any entity on the black list and will automatically begin attacking for the specified number of turns before moving on the next operation in the ship's queue. Attack Have a target in mind? Enter the exact name of the target that you want to engage, the number of turns you want to attack and soon as the saying goes, "the rest is history". You'll need to be in the same sector as your target when this command is executed in the queue, otherwise you will get a error message and your ship will continue on to the next instruction. Copy Queue Enter the starting and ending operation ID's and these instructions will be added to the end of the ship's queue. Save Queue Think you'll want to use this queue again at a later time, or use it on a ship with similar capabilities? All the operations in your active operations queue will be saved. To save it just give the queue a name, press "Process Ship Operation Actions" and it will get saved. Load Queue Using this option you can select a saved queue to be loaded into the ships operation queue. It is important to note that this option will completely replace any instructions currently in your ships queue. Delete Queue Use this option to delete a queue that you have previously saved. This option will not be shown if you don't have any queue's saved. |
